Pricing · Every number published

Our prices are on this page. Every one of them.

No "contact us for pricing". No quote-before-we-know-your-team. The licence is free, the subscription is HK$30 per user per year, on-premise installation is HK$30,000, and customisation is HK$1,500 per man-day. Those are the numbers, and they are the same for every customer.

A plan for every team. Start free.

Every customer gets the platform free. If you are happy to run it yourself, that is the end of the conversation and it costs nothing, forever. The plans below are for organisations who would rather we ran the infrastructure for them.

Free

Self-Managed

Free for every customer
HK$0 forever

The complete platform, with every module, for every customer — not a trial, not a tier, not a segment of the market. Install it yourself, or let us install it for you on-premise for a one-off fee.

  • All six modules
  • No seat cap, no expiry
  • On-premise, private cloud or your own hosting
  • SCORM, H5P, xAPI, PDF certificates
  • Source code and database are yours

We ask for a case study and a logo, not a fee.

HK$0 licence fee

  • Go-live training and handover
  • Source code and database in your hands

Customisation beyond the standard setup is HK$1,500 per man-day.

How we can charge so little

Because the licence is not the product

The platform is GPL-licensed Drupal and Drupal LMS code. Charging for the licence would mean taxing access to something that was given away on purpose — and it would cost us the community that keeps improving it.

  • No seat to bill
  • No proprietary lock-in to defend
  • No sales team to amortise
  • No renewal cliff to design around

Because our margin goes somewhere visible

We keep a small margin on implementation and customisation work. That margin funds the engineering that makes the platform better for everyone who uses it, including the customers who use it free.

  • Engineering time on the open platform
  • Security patching and core upgrades
  • Documentation and translation
  • Community support

What we do not do

01
No

We do not hide prices behind a contact form

A price list you have to email us to see is a price list you cannot compare. Everything is on this page, and it is the same for everyone.

02
No

We do not charge for the number of students

Adding a thousand students changes your hosting needs, not your platform cost. On the self-managed plan there is no seat cap and no count to bill.

03
No

We do not charge for modules

All six modules are one product. There is no "reporting pack" upsell and no "exam management" tier.

04
No

We do not charge for your leaving

Export your data in standard formats whenever you want. Your content moves with you in YAML packages and SCORM. We would rather be judged on being useful than on being unavoidable.

05
No

We do not mark up hosting

Cloud hosting is passed through at cost. We do not run a hosting margin, and we will not quietly bundle one into a subscription.

06
No

We do not charge to fix what breaks

Support is included in every plan. If the platform has a defect, fixing it is our job, not a line item.

Where our profit goes

Every dollar of margin from implementation and customisation work goes back into building more open-source software — the Drupal LMS platform itself, the modules, the documentation and the translations that Hong Kong organisations need. We do not have a private-equity obligation or a quarterly growth target. We have a platform, and we would rather it were excellent and free than exclusive and lucrative.

Questions about price

Is HK$30 per user per year the whole cost?

For the hosted platform, yes — that covers the platform, every module, HRIS and SSO integration configuration, reporting and email support. What is not included is cloud hosting, which we pass through at cost with no margin, and any customisation, which is charged at the published HK$1,500 per man-day rate.

What counts as a user?

Anyone who needs a login: staff, students, approvers and administrators. Learners who take a course without a login are not counted. On the self-managed plan there is no user count at all.

How does the 500-user threshold work?

At 500 users and above, the rate is HK$20 per user per year for every user on the account — we do not band it. If your roster shrinks below 500, we move you back to HK$30 at the next renewal rather than charging a cliff.

What does the HK$30,000 on-premise installation actually cover?

Organisation structure and user import, SSO configuration, go-live training and handover to your team. It is a fixed price for a fixed scope. Anything beyond that standard scope is customisation at HK$1,500 per man-day, quoted as an estimate before work starts.

Why is customisation charged per man-day rather than per project?

Because a man-day rate is arithmetic. You can multiply it by what you believe the work is worth and check our estimate against your own. A fixed project price would only shift the uncertainty from you to us.

Is the platform really free for everyone?

Yes — the platform, all six modules, every customer, permanently, with no seat cap. That is not a trial and not a segment of the market. What you pay for is optional: us hosting it, installing it for you, or building something specific on top of it.

What happens if we stop paying you?

The site keeps running, you keep the code, you keep the data, and you can export everything in standard formats. On-premise customers have paid the installation once and own the result outright.

Is the price really going to stay this low?

We cannot promise prices never change — nobody honestly can. What we can say is that our margin comes from implementation work, not from seats, so there is no mechanism that would push per-user prices up to pay for a platform we do not charge for.

How does "all profit goes to open source" work in practice?

The margin from implementation and customisation funds engineering time on the Drupal LMS platform, security patching, documentation and translation. It is not a charitable donation to a foundation with a website — it is the same engineers improving the same code you are running.

Start free, or get a number today

The platform is free for everyone, so there is nothing to decide — take it and run it. If you would rather we hosted it, tell us your user count and we will quote a subscription against the published rates, with no discovery call required to find out what it costs.
