What schools use it for
Structured course delivery
Organise syllabus content into sections and modules, assign by class or year group, and let students always see what to do next.
Interactive content in class
H5P interactive video, quizzes and timelines let teachers embed knowledge checks directly into a lesson instead of a separate worksheet.
Continuous assessment
Quizzes with pass requirements, graded assessments, attempts and progress tracking feed the student record automatically.
SCORM and H5P library
Reuse content authored in Storyline, Captivate or H5P without republishing for each class or year.
Certificates and transcripts
Generate PDF certificates on course completion and export transcripts for parents, admins or further-education applications.
Unlimited accounts
Add every student, every year, at no per-seat cost. Your student population can grow without a licence conversation.

- English interface and content
- One course, three language versions

Questions about OpenLMS for schools
What does it cost per student?
There is no per-student licence charge. Unlimited student accounts are supported on the same platform, and the platform licence is HK$0. The costs that do exist are hosting or on-premise infrastructure, configuration, courseware and administration — and we quote them as separate lines, because a per-student number would misrepresent where the money goes.
Can teachers author content themselves?
Yes. H5P authoring runs in the browser, so interactive content — video with interaction points, quizzes, presentations, branching scenarios — can be built by school staff without a development toolchain. That is usually the difference between a content library that grows and one that stalls after the initial set.
Can examinations run on the school network?
Yes. Examination computers can operate over a private local network with no public internet during the session, with isolated workstations, controlled exam loading and result collection. This is often a requirement for internal school assessments rather than an optional extra.
What about parent and teacher communication?
Teacher-facing views cover class enrolment, assignment, progress and marking, and certificates and transcripts are produced as PDF. Parent communication is a workflow rather than a built-in messaging product, and we scope it as configuration against whatever channel you already use.
Is the QEF 「智啟學教」 School Grant relevant to us?
Potentially, and it needs to be checked against your own situation. The grant provides a one-off HK$500,000 per school and is focused on AI in education, so it is aimed at AI-enablement projects rather than at general LMS purchase. It has to be applied for against a specific proposal, not against a software product, and eligibility is assessed by the funding body. We can structure a scope that is ready to be assessed, but we cannot tell you that you will be awarded it.
Will this work for a small school with limited technical support?
It can, but it depends on who runs the platform. Managed hosting is usually the sensible answer for a small school, and our scoping includes being honest about whether your internal capacity is enough to run it yourselves. We will not recommend self-hosting to an organisation that nobody can maintain.
